JASPER — A total of 56 homeowners throughout Dubois County have submitted applications through an owner occupied rehabilitation program, with another 150 applications sent to prospective applicants.

The Dubois County Commissioners were visited during its March 18 meeting by Jenny Matheis with the Indiana Region 15 Plan Commission regarding the project funded with $700,000 through a H.E.L.P. grant. She told the board of those applications received, 31 are from Jasper, nine from Huntingburg and Ferdinand, two each from Birdseye, Dubois and Holland and a Dale resident. The average primary request is a new roof for 37, 11 prefer HVAC work, while others are in need of electrical upgrades, water heaters and ADA accessibility upgrades.
